First, a little about you. You are launching a startup because you want to make a difference in the world. You've got knowledge and systems and experience that you want to bring to a wider audience because you want to help people.
That is why we want to help you.
We love the excitement, discovery, risk and challenge of the startup journey for all the same reasons we love climbing mountains. We know you've got vision, expertise, and drive to succeed in your business—combined with our experience, tools, and commitment this is a formidable team.
Like Tenzing Norgay, the sherpa guide who facilitated Sir Edmund Hilary’s record climb of Mt. Everest, we are here to help you accomplish your vision.
Our experienced guides know the trails up the startup mountain. But we invest deeply in understanding the particulars of your business, with its unique strengths and challenges, so that our tools can perfectly complement your needs. You may already have a solid business plan, but could use some more thorough market research. Or perhaps you need more personal guidance, via a part or full-time COO who can help you build a fantastic development team and oversee your day-to-day operations while you focus on the stuff you do best. We're happy to advise you on what will expedite your startup's success.
I'm a world traveler and avid hiker, and I care deeply about the earth and the people on it. That's why I love the startup scene: entrepreneurs want to make a difference, and are willing to take big risks to positively disrupt the status quo.
I have 15 years of experience in technology, operations, and management—always with a creative, collaborative, and organized approach. I have strong operational, relationship, and commercial sense that effectively drives teams towards the achievement of their strategic vision. I have a passion for guiding entrepreneurs through the complex landscape of a startup's early life. Making organizations run like clockwork is my passion.
I am a life-long learner and curious explorer with a diverse education in history, anthropology, Middle East studies, and business. I have travelled to 55 countries on six continents and summited mountains in the Alps, Andes, Himalayas, and the Rockies. I currently serve on the Board of the Charlottesville Business Innovation Council (CBIC), and as an associate with Charlottesville Angel Network (CAN).
Cameron worked as an analyst on my team and did a wonderful job at compiling research about marketing technologies. His work was well done - thorough and clear. He has a well-developed ability to clearly document his findings and present them in an organized fashion. I’ll add that he was always very pleasant to be around, attentive to the task at hand, and flexible to the changing needs of his role.
I needed a partner that could bring discipline, experience, and guidance to the project. I'd been down the start-up path before and was looking for someone who I felt could design and execute on a business plan and had the capacity to listen to my ideas in a way that is at once critical, patient, and supportive. I found that all in Cameron and feel great about the decision to place confidence in him.
I've found Cameron to be always professional in his communication and doing what he says he's going to do. He would be an unmatched addition to any team considering his experience in management, marketing, tech, programming, business strategy, start-ups, and design, combined with his flexibility, innovation, vision, patience, intelligence, and teachable manner. It's hard to imagine anyone more valuable to work with, and get guidance from.
As COO, Cameron began by analyzing the current state of our travel business and developed an operational strategy for its rapid growth. He quickly grasped our software solutions, and identified ways to simplify processes and automate many of our manual tasks. He implemented a new CRM system to help track clients and leads. He is highly detail oriented and thorough. He takes a very personal approach to helping us grow our business and is invested in its success.
Cameron has provided to us strategic advice and guidelines in building our new Compensation Strategy. He has been a great help in streamlining and optimizing key policies and procedures. I have appreciated his sharp advice, his methodic approach always taking into consideration different perspectives with a strong concern for results and achievement. I would definitely recommend him!
